Historical Center Closed in Seminole County, FL

Unfortunately the first cuts made are always Cultural and/or Educational that is the attitude in this country. Sometimes I think that it may be wise to look at other ways of preserving our history, at least that should be an objective. As shameful as it is our representatives often refer to our history while they do little to preserve it. American history has been, and still is, almost entirely preserved by the people who are almost all volunteers. If you go to local county historical sites [all are represented in this country] you will find that Florida Counties are dismal compared to the rest of the nation. There is little historical information while small and poor counties elsewhere have an abundance of information regarding their history.
History and education should be priority endeavors and the funding should always be preserved, at least at a reasonable level. It is simply hard to understand why the doors of history should ever be closed. It is the lifeblood of a nation and the gems of history are often found in documents preserved by local historical groups. In researching history that is where I found wonderful information.
Funding for these organizations is so very small, in the scheme of things, and it is so difficult to understand how any government could simply abandon the history of the area where it resides.
Every great nation has preserved it's history and those who did not... little is known. It is difficult for me to understand how we can Bless America and do little to preserve it's history. I wish someone could explain that to me.
Representatives of the people should not only understand the importance, but also the need to make certain that local historical museums and associations are funded and the historical contents preserved always. We cannot afford to loose even a snippet of history if possible.
I have found documents in local museums that tempted me to research further leading to hundreds of years of past history. They are so very important, they are priceless.
I pray that this may be the moment when people are moved to ask these very questions and instead of closing museums an endeavor will be made to preserve local museums.
Should they be thrown to the Gator....Vote!
